Dr. Yang received his B.S. degree in Biotechnology from Dalian University of Technology (China) in 2010. He obtained his M.S in Biology in 2013 and Ph.D. in Molecular Biosciences from Arkansas State University under the supervision of Dr. Fabricio Medina-Bolivar. His M.S. thesis focused on the expression of the MYB12 transcription factor in Scutellaria to regulate the biosynthesis of flavonoids, whereas during his doctoral research he cloned and characterized the first stilbenoid prenyltransferase gene family in peanut.
