Dr. Gonzalez Romero received her B.S. degree in Biology from San Marcos University in 2004 and her M.S in Plant Breeding in 2008 from Agrarian La Molina National University (Peru). In 2012, she obtained her Ph.D. degree in Plant Biology and Biotechnology from University of Copenhagen (Denmark) under the supervision of Dr. Barbara Ann Halkier. Her M.S. and Ph.D. thesis were focused on the engineering of the glucosinolates-myrosinase system into potato and tobacco. After her Ph.D., she joined Dr. Giuliana Medrano Laboratory at Arkansas State University as a postdoc. Her work focused on bioproduction of plant-derived animal cytokines as adjuvants for diseases treatments including cancer. In the Medina-Bolivar group, her research aims at engineering the stilbenoid pathway in tobacco, establishments of hairy root cultures and purification of stilbenoids using HPCCC and HPLC.
