Isabela is native from Brazil. She graduated from Rio de Janeiro State University with a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences and a M.S. degree in Plant Biology. She is a Ph.D. student in the same institution and won a national scholarship to be a visiting Ph.D. student in the Medina-Bolivar Laboratory. She has experience in plant tissue culture, micropropagation, adventitious root cultures and callogenesis, and has been studying Arachis species, mainly A. pintoi (Pinto peanut), for 10 years in the Plant Biotechnology Center of Rio de Janeiro State University. Her study focuses on the analysis of resveratrol and other stilbenoids as well as antioxidant activity assessment in in vitro culture systems from A. pintoi.
