Parker Knapp is originally from Hot Springs, Arkansas. He is an undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. degree with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry at Arkansas State University. In the Medina-Bolivar laboratory he is currently working with in vitro systems of muscadine grape to develop transgenic plants expressing a peanut prenyltransferase gene. The goal of this project is to increase the levels of health beneficial compounds in muscadine grape.
